On September 11, 2023, Prof. Fang Yu attended the activity of “Growing Under the Guidance of Master Teachers - Master Teachers Face to Face with Student Teachers” held in the Wenhui Building of Shaanxi Normal University’s Chang’an Campus, meeting and discussing with the representatives of Class 2025 and 2026 students in the publicly-funded teacher-education programs, the Outstanding Teachers Program, and the general teacher-education programs.

Combining his own study and teaching experience, Fang Yu emphasized the importance of basic education, the significance of the teaching profession and his love for his alma mater, and patiently answered the students' questions and gave them sincere advice. Participating students talked about their study and campus life, life ideals, as well as academic planning.
